    Length: 9.5 inches.

This piece combines vintage glass beads from Germany with a contemporary hand-crafted ceramic bead from Africa to form an 11 bead chaplet. The 10 smaller beads can be used to count "Hail Mary" prayers with the large bead the "Our Father" prayer. The bead elements are separated with small metal spacer beads. The finger ring at the top and the crucifix have been hand-cast in bronze and are patterned after vintage designs. This chaplet can be used like a single decade rosary.

The large ceramic bead is a "Kazuri" bead made by women in Kenya Africa. The beading cooperative that employs nearly 400 women, provides them with an income three to five times the national average. Most of these women use their income to support as many as 20 extended family members, including buying clothing and school supplies for their children. In Swahili the word "kazuri" means small and beautiful.

The ring at the top of this chaplet is patterned after ancient Celtic ring money that was used for trade in the pre-Christian era (800 BC on). These rings are found all over Europe where the Celts moved and settled. Originally, the Celts would cast these rings in gold, silver and bronze.

This chaplet is strung on a high quality, 49 strand, nylon coated beading wire and double crimped for extra strength.
