St. Therese and Kazuri Bead Rosary Bracelet

One size fits most wrists.

This full rosary bracelet contains the same number of beads that a traditional rosary contains. The white 8mm beads are made of bone. They are divided into 5 groups of 10 representing "Hail Mary" beads. The six turquoise-colored beads are clay and are called Kazuri beads. They represent the prayers to "Our Father."

Kazuri beads are made in Africa in a workshop where ceramic beads are shaped, polished, fired, painted and re-fired. The word "Kazuri" is Swahili for "small and beautiful." In 1975 Lady Susan Wood established Kazuri Ltd. with the mission of providing work for a few women. Today Kazuri employs nearly 400 Kenyan women, most of who provide for 20 or more extended family members. The women get health insurance, school supplies for their children and they earn three to five times the national average in wages.

The beads are strung on "memory wire" which unwinds to easily wrap around your wrist.
